Off the Beaten Paths: Critical Perspectives on ESD
A transdisciplinary project that aims to explore and discuss critical perspectives on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
The project brings together researchers, educators, and practitioners interested in questioning established approaches, routines, and assumptions in the field of ESD. It seeks to create spaces for exchange, reflection, and collaboration and to contribute to broader discussions on the tensions, challenges, and possibilities of ESD.

The project includes different formats for academic exchange and collaboration. Current and planned activities include the symposium “Off the Beaten Paths: Critical Perspectives on ESD”, workshops at ECER 2026 in Tampere, Finland, and a planned joint publication.
